June in Labin and Rabac
On Tuesdays at 9:30 PM, from June 13 to September 12, discover the secrets of Labin Old town during a free night sightseeing tour in Croatian, English, German and Italian. Your female guides dressed as Sentona-the patroness of travellers-will introduce you with the ancient people known as Liburni and the outcome of the battle with the Uskoks, while their male colleagues wearing miners' uniform will proudly tell you all about the famous Labin Republic and the local miners' riot. Get to know the exciting lives of Matthias Flacius, Labin native theologian and a close associate of Martin Luther, a Labin-born socialist Giuseppina Martinuzzi and Josip Belušić, the inventor of speedometer. Find out how a mine replica was built in the National museum at Battiala-Lazzarini palace, and finish your tour in front of Negri palace with indigenous Istrian produce tasting.
Tours start at 9:30 PM in front of Info point at Labin Old town, and finish at 11 PM in front of Negri palace.
This season from June to September a weekly handmade and gourmet local produce fair will provide you with numerous pleasures at the waterfront in Rabac. Taste and buy indigenous Istrian gastro products: top international award-winning olive oil and Labin area wines, meat delicacies, including Istrian prosciutto and sausages, cheese from the best Croatian family farm, natural jams and juices. Discover the tradition of hand-made ceramics produced in Labin area, relax with cosmetics made of lavender, choose original hand-made souvenirs and enjoy live evergreen music.
Rabac waterfront, 8 – 11 PM
Celebrate summer start and the 35th anniversary of local carnival group Labinjonska Kompanija Domaća Folšarija at the traditional Summer Carnival in Rabac. Join the cheerful parade of carnival groups from Croatia and abroad run by the local carnival group. The colourful and noisy parade starts at 7:30 PM in front of the hotels in Maslinica bay, and heads along the waterfront promenade, dancing and singing, until they arrive at the main waterfront. Participants will present their costumes, dance choreographies and fun acts accompanies by the sounds of drums, accordions and brass orchestra, and afterwards the parade continues its way to Marina hotel terrace, where the closing party will take place.
This summer offers you a unique opportunity to see some of the best works of an outstanding Croatian artist Edo Murtić in Labin. Painter, graphic designer, stage designer and academician, Edo Murtić became worldwide famous with his murals and mosaics you can even walk on at Dubrova sculpture park (at the entrance to Labin), as part of Bijela Cesta (White Road) art project. Murtić's works are part of numerous private and public collections around the world, so make sure you see the artistic heritage of this great man.

This year the traditional Labin town fest called Petrova offers plenty of entertainment. Besides opening ceremony of Labin Art Republic, central summer cultural event in Eeastern Istria, the fest also includes Labin Business RiseUp, presenting enterpreneurs, craftsmen and family farms from the whole country. Olive oil gallery will once again gather gourmands and the best Labin area and Istrian olive oil producers and winemakers. Enjoy the performance of folklore dance, local folklore societies and young music stars with the main performance of Croatian group Crvena jabuka.
