Traditional Easter Table

Take a walk down the new tourist trails in Labin and Rabac where you'll find plenty of wild bitter vegetables, the basis of traditional cuisine of Labin. Awakened with scents of rosemary coming from the sea and refreshed by walk along the waterfalls on Sentona's trail Labin - Rabac and Skitača hill, get refreshed with traditional local Easter dishes. Fritaja (kind of an omelet) with wild asparagus, dandelion, black bryony and wild leek salad, squid with fennel, cod in 'white sauce' served with pasutice (homemade pasta)or lamb with onions and rosemary roasted under a baking lid (known as črepnja in Croatian)are just some of the many local specialties waiting for you in local restaurants. Easter dining is impossible to complete without krafi- traditional sweets of ravioli filled with cheese, raisins and walnuts served with caramel sauce.

Easter in Rabac

Rabac, the pearl of the Kvarner Bay, is an ideal Easter holiday destination for families and young couples in love. Long Walk Day (Sisol – Skitača) April 21st

Meet the most beautiful hiking trails in the Labin area on the longest route of the Labin hiking track. Start trekking from Sisol peak, south end of mount Učka ridge above Brseč village, and experience Istrian spring in all its beauty at Skitača in the south part of Labin area peninsula. Spectacular views show on one side endless blue sea and the neighboring islands of Cres and Losinj and on the other mystical bellowers in the medieval towns. After a whole day walk get refreshments at enjoy the ever cheerful atmosphere in the mountaineering house Skitača, one of the most beautiful of its kind in Croatia. Long Walk Day is organized by Mountaineering Society Skitaci from Labin.

Voga teleferika April 29th

The exciting twelfth rowboat race Voga teleferika is organized preserving the tradition of local fishermen who considered their boats as their second home. The race starts at the waterfront in Rabac and finishes on the right side of the Rabac bay next to the remains of Teleferika – wire mill once used to transport bauxite from the Labin mines. Feel the excitement and joy, laugh at jokes and feel the competitive spirit among the numerous local teams. The party continues after the race at the waterfront with grilled sardines and local wines. In the Rabac dialect voganje means rowing, so vogajte/row with us and step into the new summer season.

Bio Farm Drijade

On bio farm Drijade, located in Šumber, a romantic village 12 km from Labin, you will experience the primal love of humans and animals. This cheerful farm is a home to approximately seventy goats and their kids, two boškarin cows Učka and Sentona, five horses, donkeys, a perky Vietnamese pig Roža, chickens, cats and dogs, and the entire property is developed on the principles of sustainability and permaculture. Guided tours include walking the goats on pasture and adopting them, thereby helping the sustainability of the farm. During the tour you can hear a lecture on organic livestock production, see the presentation of work with animals and take a walk on horseback with a guide. It is also possible to buy goat's milk cheese, goat curd and whey, as well as natural goat manure for garden planting.

Logo Sentona

Labin Tourist Board has chosen the new logo as a part of a new tourist project 'Goddess Sentona - Labin / Rabac divine destination'. It is designed by Ivona Verbanac, a graphic designer and multimedia artist from Labin, who used a local sage leaf as an inspiration in creating Sentona’s logo. The patron of travelers will give presents to the guests, provide them with refreshments and relaxation of the local indigenous products and original souvenirs, interesting tourist trips and new footpaths and walkways, special wellness programs and massages with local essential oils, and ‘Divine menus’ with traditional dishes of this area. This project presents Labin and Rabac as a destination for pleasure, naturalness, health and balance of body and spirit.
