Celebrating the 104th anniversary of the Labin Republic – Creative textile screen printing workshop at the Labin City Gallery
The organizers, the Labin City Tourist Board and the Labin Open University, invite you to a creative textile screen printing workshop to mark the 104th anniversary of the Labin Republic with La Bestia. |
If you want to learn what screen printing is and its basics, and have a lot of fun along the way, our workshop is the right opportunity for you.
Screen printing is one of the oldest printing techniques, used as far back as 5000 BC, and due to its fairly simple technological process, it is becoming accessible to everyone, especially nowadays when the materials needed for work are easily available. Screen printing is also very popular due to its so-called DIY (do it yourself) approach, so it is used for making: posters, stickers, decorating clothing, decor…
With a relaxed atmosphere, a little effort and good will, you will learn and try your hand at screen printing on textiles. We have prepared for you a few motifs related to Labin, the Labin Republic and mining, which has been an important part of the lives of Labin residents for about 400 years. The workshop includes a tie, shopping bag or T-shirt on which you will learn how to print the selected motifs, and it is also possible to bring a textile item of clothing that you can also personalize as you wish. We have prepared a special surprise for everyone who has miners in their family. You will be able to personalize a T-shirt with an inscription that indicates your family connection. You will discover the details at the workshop, because after all, it is a surprise!
The workshop lasts about 2 hours, and like previous La Bestia workshops, it will be accompanied by a nice snack and a glass of good wine. We look forward to your registration.
