Gala concert of the Samobor Trio at the Labin Cinema, Friday, 19.09.2025.
On Friday, September 19th, starting at 8 p.m., the Kina Labin hall will host a gala concert by the Trio Samobor, which consists of three prominent musicians: violinist Eva Mach, pianist Mia Pečnik and cellist Petra Kušan. Although each of them has a rich professional biography and numerous international performances behind them, they are connected by one special city — Samobor. It was precisely from this connection and shared passion for chamber music that they founded the Trio Samobor in 2024, which quickly attracted the attention of the audience and music critics.
Who are the members of Trija Samobor?
Eva Mach , violinist and the initiator of this ensemble, grew up in Samobor, where she began her musical journey as a child, playing
violin in Livadićeva Street, overlooking the Samobor Museum. Her concert career has taken her all over the world, and the Samobor audience has had the opportunity to listen to her at numerous recitals and performances.
Petra Kušan , a cellist and descendant of the famous Ferdo Livadić, won the main prize at the International Competition of Young Musicians “Ferdo Livadić” in Samobor in 2007. Musical talent and heritage come together in her performances, which do not leave the audience indifferent.
Mia Pečnik , pianist and youngest member of the trio, won the City of Samobor Award at the same competition in 2020. Her solo recitals in Samobor, but also throughout Croatia, confirm that she has a bright future ahead of her.
Besides all three musicians being in some way connected to this small town with a great cultural tradition, they are also united by a very pronounced
enthusiasm for chamber music. The program of this ensemble is open to a wide repertoire of classical music, including works by contemporary composers, both foreign and Croatian. Each member of this trio has an enviable professional biography behind her, with rich experience of performing on Croatian and world stages, which is why they decided to start this trio and present their combined energy and shared passion for classical music to the audience.
Trio Samobor has already had the opportunity to perform in Samobor, Zagreb, Vienna, Zadar, Vukovar, Zabok and throughout Croatia, and for this year they are announcing and preparing to record their first digital album entitled In modo Croatico.
In Labin, they will play works by Ivo Maček, Boris Papandopulo and Antonin Dvorak.
