Information on temporary traffic regulation on the occasion of the international recreational cycling marathon Istria300, Saturday, September 27, 2025, Sat

On September 27, 2025, the fifth consecutive international recreational road cycling marathon Istria300, which was also one of the biggest sports events in Istria last year, will take place on Istrian roads. The organization of the race is underwritten by the company Bike Triangle doo from Pula, whose founders have extensive experience in organizing the highest sports events in our country and beyond (CRO Race, Ironman Slovenian Istria 70.3, Großglockner Mountain Run, Großglockner Bike Challenge, UCI Gravel Wörthersee) who work together to develop a cycle tourism product with the aim of promoting the County of Istria and the Republic of Croatia as a sport and cycle tourism destination.

The start and finish of this road cycling marathon will be in the City of Poreč, and this year around 4,000 participants from Croatia and abroad will take part. In addition to the race itself, the Istria300 event will be accompanied by a four-day program from 25 to 28 September 2025 with numerous activities and programs that will attract many visitors.

Cyclists will start at 7:00 AM on the day of the race from the main town square in Poreč, and the marathon concept is based on 3 races of different lengths that start simultaneously. On the day of the race, cyclists will be able to independently decide which of the 3 proposed routes (135, 209 and 300 km) they will ride, by making an on-site decision at the race junctions, while respecting the time limit. Interactive race routes are available at the following links:

During the organization of the event itself, the organizer prepared a traffic study to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimal congestion on the roads that day. Given the complexity of the organization itself and the need to ensure a high level of safety for all road users, certain sections of public roads through which the race passes will be partially or completely closed on that day, and traffic will be conducted according to special traffic regulations coordinated by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior in conjunction with the organizer’s traffic police. Vehicles will be allowed to pass in the direction of the race or across the route of this cycling marathon on most sections, but some sections will be closed for several hours.

With the aim of informing the general public in a timely manner about the special traffic regulation and the use of detours, we are attaching a graphic representation and a rough timeline of the duration of the special traffic regulation so that citizens who find themselves on the race route during the temporary traffic regulation will know how to get to their desired destination as quickly as possible.

Special emphasis on traffic regulation is placed on the areas of the cities of Poreč, Labin and Pazin, so a separate graphic presentation of the closure of individual road routes and alternative traffic routes has been created for these areas, which will allow traffic to pass through that day and ensure unimpeded movement on the roads to the greatest extent possible.
